The creme de la creme of lingerie is none other than Herminie Cadolle, who began creating couture underwear at the peak of the Belle Epoque, and is considered by many to be the contemporary inventor of the bra.
A century and five generations later, granddaughter Poupie Cadolle still personally takes the orders of discerning women who simply do not settle for store bought lingerie.
The ritual says Poupie, "is to ask the client what she wants to take her measures, to propose some models and then shape something according to their wishes".
The price side? For a bra, prices start from 600euros up to 1,500 euros for a corset.
Prices of course, can reach up to 5,000 euros for High fashion strapless.
Concerning their clientele it includes the Princess of the Middle East, movie stars or businesswomen.
Poupie said "Not always is this the case.. - Once I saw a woman arriving with an old envelope, she had saved for 5years to be able to afford the Cadolle was her dream.
For some it becomes a habit to offer the Cadolle lingerie but for others it might be the purchase of their lives.
For all those who can not afford the bespoke, there is always the possibility of going in Cadolle shop where prices are more affordable.
