Everything started in 2008 when Singapore Airlines launched their Suites Class the chicest and most exquisite class available so far.

The flagship Airbus A380 offers the Suite Class with enclosed private cabins with sliding doors giving you maximum privacy for as long as you like, after all Singapore Airlines is the only commercial flight offering a double bed for all of you out there.

Designer in charge of interiors is the Luxury Yacht designer Jean-Jacques Coste responsible for the soft leather armchair hand-stitched by Poltrona Frau the Italian master craftsman.

All this luxury comes of course in the price of $18.400 for round trip tickets Singapore-New York-Singapore.

It all started at the Singapore Changi Airport at the Singapore Airline counters for check in.

The staff greeted us and directed us to the luxurious check in lounge specially for First Class and Suites passengers.

Reminding of a Hotel lobby with bellhop service for your luggage it was exactly what we'd wait for at a class and price range like this.

After completion of our check in we had The Golden Ticket plus an invitation to The Private Room, according to the staff it was way "higher than first class".

After a short walk we passed the Business Class lounge through a set of automatic sliding double doors arriving at The Private Room where staff greeted us by name.

After reading the reviews of the dining room we got a table ordered a flute of champagne and decided to have the Chicken and Mutton Satay plate.

and the Baked Boston Lobster with Gruyere, Emmenthal and Cheddar cheese.

And the U.S. Prime Beef Burger with Foie Gras, Rocket Leaf & Fried Quail Egg, and a Mango Smoothie too... ;)

After this wholesome meal it was time for boarding.
A dedicated bridge for Suites passengers led us to the entrance of the aircraft while a flight attendant  was there ready to greet us.
"Good evening Mr. Low!"

We were escorted to our Suite.

We picked the middle suite, which was optionally merged with the adjacent suite, forming a real double bed.

"Would you like a glass of Dom Perignon, sir?" The first thing into our mind was a Yes!

After we were offered a series of Newspapers and magazines the crew members came out to personally introduce themselves to me. Among them Zaf came up which was the Chief Steward of the flight.

Zaf had also the main role at the safety video.

Zaf told as there were only 3 other passengers in the 12 Suites while joked that we could have a bedroom, dining room and a living room just for ourselves if we wanted.

Sipping on Dom Perignon and Iced Milo it was about time to check out all the cool amenities on board the flight like the Bose Headphones.

The amenity kit by Salvatore Ferragamo including a full sized bottle of cologne.

All the rest of the amenities are by Givenchy, the blankets, pillows, slippers and pajamas.

About 1:00am we decided to order a coffee from the extensive coffee menu when our eye dropped on the Blue Mountain Coffee! A pound of these Blue Mountain beans sells for $120 at Philz Coffee.

When we asked for a recommendation on the Tea selection Zaf brought out a cup of TWG's Paris-Singapore tea.

Zaf mentioned the high quality of the tea leaves the hand sewn cotton teabags, the fragrant cherry blossoms and red fruits infused into the tea. He has been with the airline for 19 years and within the past 3 years, has served Leonardo DiCaprio and Morgan Freeman flying in Suites Class.

After this small discussion it was about time for a movie.

After the movie  we ordered a 5-course supper.

We begun with Malossol Caviar and Lobster - Fennel Salad.

Next dish was the Duck Foie Gras with Shaved Fennel-Orange Salad, Beetroots and Mizuna.

As a main course we had the Fish Noodle Soup.

And for dessert Vanilla Bavarois with Raspberry Coulis!!

After supper we had a guided tour of the A380 aircraft.

We had a walk around this giant with wings except the cockpit that was out of the tour for security reasons of course.

Lights had turned down indicating it was time to sleep.

In the Suites, you don't get the classic seat that goes flat and use that as an excuse for bed. You merely step aside while the Singapore Airlines flight attendants transform your Suite into a bedroom, with a real mattress on top of a full sized bed. When the adjacent suite is empty, the diving partition can be brought down to create a double bed.

 The next couple of hours passed extremely comfortable.

There is also an option of "Do Not Disturb" button for privacy

During the flight, attendants check on you almost every 5 minutes without being intrusive or annoying, just passing by.
We went to the restroom to change into the pajamas provided.

We landed at Frankfurt for a two hour layover, and the three passengers of Suites Class were escorted to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge which had a spa and hot shower.

When we got back on the plane a new crew was on board for the flight to New York.

Since it was 8:00am we had an ice cold breakfast cocktail

For Breakfast we ordered Singapore Airline's Book the Cook service.

This service allows you to pre-order a specific meal before the flight.
We decided to have the Lobster Thermidor with Buttered Asparagus, Slow roasted Vine ripened Tomato, and Saffron rice.

And for dessert

The partition between the two middle suites slides up to form a wall.

Choosing a single bed for a power nap is pretty spacious on its own.

As soon as we walk up we were presented with the second meal we had pre ordered through Book the Cook.

U.S. Grilled Prime Beef Fillet designed by celebrity chef Alfred Portale.

As we finally landed at New York Airport we did not want to leave this little piece of Heaven.
